The Macalester-Groveland Living at Home Program began as a three-year pilot project in 1987 with funding from the Commonwealth Foundation in New York.
In 1991 the strengths of the Living at Home Program and the Block Nurse Program were joined together to form the Living at Home/Block Nurse Program under the auspices of the Community Education Division of the Saint Paul Public Schools.
In 1992 the Macalester-Groveland Living at Home/Block Nurse Program became a separate non-profit serving the area of Macalester-Groveland in Saint Paul.
In 1994 the Program began providing in-home nursing services.
Today we continue to flourish! A 10-minute video explaining the Program was produced in July, 1999 with seniors, volunteers, staff and board members with help from City Council Member Mike Harris. It is available for viewing at our office; stop by and take a gander!
